This card is the only one I have seen from a series entitled Film Stars and Their Pets. Therefore there must be more and I guess this is actually her pet.
This is the back of the Miriam's card and it provides a short bio.The August 20, 1934 text on the card is:
Miss J. Stapley, Butts Villa, Wisborough Green, Billingshurst, Sussex
Chatham, Monday - We have had a nice time here, hope you are having as nice weather as we are. Our dear love to the three of you and Auntie. Try to be good. Love, Missy.
Minus the address it's short enough to be a Twitter message.

Beautiful pics, I wish film stars today were this gorgeous.
I always thought that Robert Young was the definition of hot during the '30's and '40's, I suppose because of his boy-next-door looks. Please tell me you have some images of him!
Maya, if I ever do a blog on male actors of the twenties and thirties, he would certainly be included. Perhaps that should be a blog you undertake!
I'd love to blog about Robert but I don't think I'd do that good of a job.
I look forward to when you blog about the gorgeous guys of the golden age! It should be a treat!
Katharine Hepburn carried a monkey around when she first arrived in Hollywood, as I recall. I wonder what happened to it and to Del Rio's, since I hear that monkeys get *very* difficult to handle once they reach a certain age.
Beautiful photos! I especially like the Miriam Hopkins one!
Great pictures! Ladies and their dogs. Or monkey!

'Film stars and their pets' series; I've seen a Ruby Keeler one circulating on Ebay a few times. Have a look out for it.
